Every piece we create is a testament to true craftsmanship. We shun CNC machines, opting instead for traditional methods that allow us to handpick each piece of lumber and shape it with care. For the Swiftwater Resort project, we sourced some old African Walnut that had been waiting decades for the right project. Seeing this beautiful wood featured in the rooms of the resort was truly a delight.

The heart and soul of this instrument is taking shape, and it is all done by hand. No CNC machines are involved in the making of this exceptional instrument. The body of this Otter has been meticulously shaped, and we are now adding the comfort carves by hand. This step ensures that not only will it sound incredible, but it will feel like an extension of you when you play it.

Stunning Wood Selection

This instrument features a selection of wood species that are not only exceptional in terms of sound but also stunning to behold. The back of the guitar is crafted from a single piece of Sapele wood, a rare find for an instrument. The front is a visual masterpiece, combining deep red Padauk and rich figured maple. The marriage of these woods promises a unique tonal character and an instrument that’s truly captivating to look at.

Exquisite Neck and Fretboard

Crafted for exceptional playability, the neck of this Otter is a work of art. It’s made from Padauk and Roasted Curly Maple, a combination that offers both stability and resonance. Paired with a matching Padauk fretboard, every note you play will be a joy to create. We’ve selected beautiful black mother of pearl inlays, adding a touch of elegance to this already magnificent instrument.

Nitrocellulose Finish on the Horizon

With the inlay work nearly completed, this Otter is now poised for its final transformation – the application of a vintage nitrocellulose finish. This finish not only protects the wood but also enhances the overall resonance and tone of the guitar. The planned finish will showcase the wood’s natural beauty, making this instrument a true piece of art.
