🌿 What is Ambrosia Maple?
Ambrosia maple is prized for its distinctive streaks and unique patterns, created when ambrosia beetles interact with the tree. As the beetles bore into the maple, they carry a harmless fungus that leaves behind beautiful gray, blue, and brown streaks. The process also produces tiny natural wormholes, adding even more character. This natural process gives each board its own story and signature look — no two pieces are ever alike.
In our clocks, these wormholes are thoughtfully filled with a special firefly mica epoxy — a subtle, shimmering detail that’s nearly invisible at first glance but catches the light just right for a quiet sparkle.
